Graduate Research Day 2023 

ایم این ایس یونیورسٹی آف ایگریکلچر ملتان میں ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف گریجویٹ اسٹڈیز اور گریجویٹ ریسورس سینٹر کے زیرِ اِہْتِمام 17 مئی2023   کو گریجویٹ ریسرچ ڈے کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔  میزبانی کے فرائض  انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف پلانٹ بریڈنگ اینڈ بائیو ٹیکنالوجی کے اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عمر اکرم نے سر انجام دیے ۔ڈائریکٹر گریجویٹ اسٹڈیز، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناصر ندیم نے اس سرگرمی کو سراہا اور طلبہ کو اس قسم کی سرگرمیوں میں حصہ لینے کی ترغیب دی۔تقریب کے مہمان خصوصی پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عرفان بیگ( ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز)تھے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس قسم کی سرگرمیاں تعلیمی اداروں اور صنعت کے درمیان ہم آہنگی پیدا کرنے میں معاون ثابت ہوں گی۔ تعلیمی اداروں اور صنعتی ماہرین پر مشتمل پندرہ رکنی کمیٹی نے پوسٹرز کا جائزہ لیا۔ججز میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شفقت سعید (ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹل سائنسز)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عرفان بیگ (ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف رضا (ڈین فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز) ،    ڈاکٹر مبشر مہدی (ڈائریکٹر بزنس انکیوبیشن سینٹر)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناصر ندیم (ڈائریکٹر گریجویٹ اسٹڈیز)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عمر فاروق (ہیڈ آف ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ہیومن نیوٹریشن اینڈ ڈائیٹکس)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر الحق (ہیڈ آف ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف سوائل اینڈ انوائرمینٹل سائنسز)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اشتیاق اے رجوانہ (چیئرمین نیشنل ایگریکلچر ایجوکیشن ایکریڈیٹیشن کونسل)، ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر  ڈاکٹر محمد آصف خان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف پلانٹ بریڈنگ اینڈ بائیو ٹیکنالوجی، ڈاکٹر عائشہ حکیم (اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر شعبہ کمپیوٹر سائنس)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد بابر (بی زیڈ یو)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر وقاص ملک (بی زیڈ یو)، جناب شیخ فرخ۔ اقبال (پیپسیکو) نے پوسٹرز کا جائزہ لیا اور طلباء کی حوصلہ افزائی کی۔

Graduate Research Day was organized on 17th May 2023 Directorate of Graduate Studies and Graduate Resource Center at MNS University of Agriculture Multan. The program was hosted by Dr. Umar Akram, Assistant Professor, Institute of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology. Director Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Nasir Nadeem appreciated this activity and encouraged the students to participate in such activities. Prof. Dr. Irfan Baig (Dean Faculty of Social Sciences) was the chief guest of the event. He said that these types of activities will make coordination between academia and Industry. 15 judges evaluated the posters and videos. Judges Include Professor Dr. Shafqat Saeed (Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences), Prof. Dr. Irfan Baig (Dean Faculty of Social Sciences), Prof. Dr. Asif Raza (Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences), Prof. Dr. Irfan Baig (Dean Faculty of Social Sciences), Dr. Mubasher Mehdi (Director Business Incubation Center), Prof. Dr. Nasir Nadeem (Director Graduate Studies), Prof. Dr. Umar Farooq (Head of Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics), Prof. Dr. Tanveer-ul-Haq (Head of Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences), Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana (Chairman National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council), Associate Professor. Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan Institute of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, Dr. Ayesha Hakeem (Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Babar (BZU), Prof. Dr. Waqas Malik (BZU), Mr. Sheikh Farrukh Iqbal (Pepsico). The judges encourage the students and activity.

Graduate Research Day 2023 - Results

The Graduate Resource Center has organized “Graduate Research Day – 2023” on 17-May-2023. MNSUAM postgraduate students participated in this scientific activity. On the basis of approved criteria the posters were evaluated on the basis of Contents (Title, Hypothesis, Methods, Results), Presentation (Articulation, Quality, Q/A) and Layout (Style, Text, Figures/Illustrations) while the videos were evaluated on the basis of Title + Content, Time duration (5 minutes maximum), Audio quality and speed of speech, Graphics, Visually Appealing Animation and Clearly Understandable Message. The judges from MNS University of Agriculture, Multan, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Cairo University, Egypt, Sivas University of Science and Technology, Turkiye and Industry personnels evaluated the posters and videos. Among the participants, following students have attained 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd positions in the category of Poster and video competition, separately.

Prize Distribution Ceremony

Graduate Research Day 2023 was organized by the Graduate Resource Center under the supervision of Directorate of Graduate Studies at MNS University of Agriculture Multan. The prize distribution ceremony of the event was held on 19 July 2023. Worthy Vice Chancellor “Prof. Dr. Asif Ali (T.I)”, Prof. Dr. Nasir Nadeem (Director Graduate Studies), Dr. Shoaib Ur Rehman (In-Charge Graduate Resource Center), Dr. Nadeem Iqbal (Department of Computer Science), and faculty members from BZU “ Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum, Prof. Dr. Waqas Malik (Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics) and Dr. Muqarrab Akbar (Department of Political Sciences) attended the prize and certificate distribution ceremony. Prize money of Rs. 15,000/-, 10,000/- and 5000/- was awarded for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Position holders, respectively, for both Poster and Video competition. Mr. Adnan Fareed (Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences), Miss Sania Javeed (Institute of Plant Protection) and Mr. Abdul Rauf (Institute of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology) secured 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd position, respectively, in poster competition. Miss Fatima Javeria (Institute of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology), Miss Mariyam Pervaiz (Department of Computer Science), and Mr. Rafi Ullah (Department of Horticulture) secured 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd positions, respectively, in the video competition.

Student Information :

Fatima Javeria (2019-uam-2720) is basically from Multan, Punjab. She secured 1^st position in Graduate Research Day – 2023 (Research Based Video Competition) and won prize money of 15,000 PKR. Currently she is enrolled  as a Ph.D. Scholar (Biotechnology) in the Institute of Plant Breeding and Biotechnology, MNS University of Agriculture, Multan.
